OBEREGGEN IN WINTER
Obereggen, the heart of the Latemar region and UNESCO World Heritage Site is just a 20-minute drive from Bolzano – bang in the middle of the après-ski kingdom, where the valleys and mountains of the snow-blanketed slopes offer après-ski fun at its very best. An unmissable opportunity with a good-time guarantee, whatever your age or taste. The Tipi at the Obereggen Valley Station is the first and only Indian après-ski teepee tent in Italy, and is the perfect venue for cocktails, fun and dancing to DJ beats after an adrenaline-packed descent. The tent is over 10 metres high, and holds an unlimited capacity of fun. Another newcomer on the scene is LuMo. Right on the Eben school slopes at the newly-renovated Cristal hotel, this chic, sophisticated venue is a wonderful place to unwind after a day on the snow. Heading higher up the mountain, we come to the Ganischger Alm, another absolute must. At an altitude of 2,045 meters above sea level, this welcoming mountain hut is a long-famed rendezvous for young skiers, snowboarders and sun-worshippers. At 2,096 meters, right next to the Obereggen cable car station, you will find the all-new Oberholz Alpine hut, an innovative architectural project in the ski area. Every Friday at this mountain venue the Becherhof dairy, producers of the exquisite Val d'Ega cheese, offer a cheese-tasting session accompanied by wines from South Tyrol And to round off the day to perfection, after the tasting session ends you will have the chance to witness the legendary spectacle of the Dolomites “dressed in pink” as the red rays of sunset light up the slopes for your last descent of the day.
Tastings: 4 January to 5 April 2018 every Friday from 3 o'clock.
